We found a killer list of concentration strategies for students.
This list is perfect for those who want to know the best way to cram for an exam. Check this out:
Eat Frequent Small Meals
Avoid eating a big meal before a study session. Too much food will send your body into a ‘rest’ mode. On the other hand, don’t starve yourself either. Frequent small meals are best.
Study When You’re Sharpest
Study according to your body-clock. Are you sharpest in the morning or at the evening? Schedule your most difficult materials when you are mentally at your best, and schedule the easier ones when you are mentally less efficient.
Drink Water Often
Drink plenty of water during a study session, especially when you feel sluggish. Caffeine may help you to stay awake, but it can increase your anxiety - use it in moderation.
Don’t Get Too Comfortable in Your Chair
Choose a chair that supports your back. It should be comfortable, but not too comfortable. Just like an athlete during a performance, your body should be relaxed, so that all your energy goes to where it matters - your brain.
Clear Your Desk of Everything You Don’t Need
Have everything you need on the desk. Put away what you do not need for the study session. Seeing reminders of other assessments or domestic bills may increase your anxiety and distract you.
Take Breaks Every Hour
It is important to take a break before you feel tired and lose your concentration completely. Regular breaks at least once an hour helps to sustain your concentration. If the work is not going too well and you have difficulties in concentrating, you may need a long break and go back to it later
Stretch During Your Breaks
Know and respect your concentration span which will vary from hour to hour and from day to day. When you sit for long periods, gravity draws the blood to the lower part of your body. When you take a break, take a few deep breaths and get more oxygen to your brain: try walking around and doing some light stretching for a few minutes. It will help to release tension in your body, and help your circulation.
Study at the Same Time, Same Place
Study at the same time and at the same place, devoted to study only. This helps you to associate the time and place with studying and concentrating. You will find that you get into a habit of studying as soon as you sit down.

How To Improve Our Concentration
Do you remember yourself reading sentences after sentences of your books, but without actually concentrating on it? That is called a casual reading. A casual reading through the books doesn't help much. That is because, the concepts just pass by the mind, without being able to associate themselves with your understanding, or your memory. But the time that you spend in such casual reading never comes back. Moreover, it is boring. Study without concentration is an utter waste of time and energy. Avoid it.
The secret of concentration
There is no big tricks to develop concentration. If you want to improve your concentration in studies, you just need to enjoy what you read. There are books teaching you meditation, etc that claim to improve your concentration. I have tried a few of them, but personally I feel that the claims are over exaggerated by the authors. I discovered a simple technique that simply works wonder for me. I benefited immensely from the technique, and now I want you to benefit from the secret. The secret to concentration is being able to develop interest in the subject.
How to develop interest in the subject?
Simply stating, information is not at all interesting. But most curriculum books just provide information. Even intellectual concepts are presented as if they are information. That is the reason why curricular books are so often dreaded by students. But information becomes interesting when we discover the underlying concepts in them. So if you want to make your study hours interesting, try to discover the concepts yourself. Do not just believe what is said in the book. Let whatever you have to learn, be learnt not just as information, but as concepts that YOU have re-discovered.
Study tips
Make separate self study note book for each subject.
When you sit to study a subject, do not forget to be ready with your self study notes and pens(at least 2 colors).
With each line you read from the book, make questions, as if you are going to make a tough question paper in that subject. This will force you to concentrate on the subjects.
Note down the questions in one color and the answers in another. But write the answers from your understanding, in your own words. Don’t copy paste from book.
The tougher the questions you have made, the better you have concentrated. And the longer you are going to remember what you have learnt.
The most important thing is this: REVISE your notes. This would hardly take 5 minutes for every hour you have spent in making the question and answers. If you miss to revise, then the extra effort that you have put to make the notes will simply be wasted. But every revision will pay back at least 10 times of what you have invested.
Solve examples and exercise questions. You will be surprised to see that you are able to solve most of them.Revision tips
Jolt down what all you want to revise in a particular study session.
Assign the time that you can afford to spend on each topic of revision.
Open your self study notes. But don’t just read through all that you have written, else your mind will start wondering, day dreaming, etc.
Read only the questions. Hide the answers. Try to recall the answer you have written. Check your memory.
If you are able to think some new questions and answers in your mind, add them to your notes. When to revise?
Every day night, before sleep, revise all that you have noted down in your notes.
Every weekend, revise all that you have noted down during the week.
Before the exam, all that is needed for the exam.If you have genuinely followed up to this, congratulations!!! You have noted down your success, and before the exam, when everyone else will be cramming, you are revising your success as a fun game.

How To Increase Memory
Memory is a function that depends directly on the brain. Long term memory and short term memory both are dependant on the brains state when absorbing knowledge. Other factors can include brain blockages, the inability to focus, and a lack of attention span.
All of the factors mentioned above can be influenced and changed by altering the frequencies of the brain. The vibrations of the brain are responsible for how the brain absorbs and stores data. When the brain is in the correct state, information can and will be stored properly and efficiently. The drug companies offer many drugs and medications that are meant to alter the brains functions, but too many of these drugs are found to be extremely dangerous, and many side effects have been noticed.
The good news is, there is a way to safely and effectively alter your brains learning and memory abilities without the use of drugs or medications. Direct sound waves can be used to adjust the brain’s operating frequencies to promote healthy and efficient memory enhancement.
HOW TO INCREASE MEMORY
How to increase memory is as much an art as it’s a science but it’s much easier then one would think. The methods that allow someone to go from poor long term or short term memory to excellent is rather easy but it may be hard to believe. We need to get through this thought in order to find the techniques that make this all possible for better recall.

How To Be Creative Person
1. Creativity is a way of being, not just doing. Do you see "being creative" as something you put on like a uniform only on the occasions when you're actually making something? This perception can mean, like a uniform, you feel you can detach from your creativity and put it to one side while you get on with the rest of life. In fact, creativity is more like your skin. It's always there with you in everything you do. Once you begin to accept this, you can let it seep into everything you do - you can truly be, think, say and do creatively - instead of putting the "uniform" on only once in a while.
2. All the ideas you can handle. Having a steady flow of ideas is key to being highly creative. We're all capable of generating this stream of ideas, but only if we capture them does it feel we're creative. The mistake most of us make is to think we'll remember every great idea we have in the shower or supermarket. Then when we don't, it feels like those ideas never occurred in the first place. Find a way of recording your ideas - a notebook, camera or voice recorder - and you'll find the amount that you have soars.
3. Creating regularly to keep the flow. The more creative you are, the more creative you are. It's only by creating regularly - setting aside time each and every day - that you can truly let your creativity reach the kind of free flow it's capable of. It takes many times more energy to start a body in motion than it does to keep it steadily rolling along. That's not just a law of physics, it's a law of creativity too. Create every day, even for just 15 minutes and notice your overall creativity levels dramatically increase.
4. Acknowledge your own creativity. If you don't believe you're creative, it will always be a struggle against the tide to reach any consistent creativity. Fortunately, this is nearly always about perception, not raw facts. Make a list of all the ways you're creative each and every day - the tiny details, like how you coordinate your wardrobe, arrange your desk, conjure up meals, deal with work and family problems. Creativity is not just about making art, it's in everything you do. Recognise how creative you already are!
5. Keeping the inner critic at bay. Many of us get to a crucial point in creating a new project only to be floored by that old "friend", our inner critic. What we don't realise is that our inner critic is just trying to protect us, to save us from disappointment. Its intentions are positive, even if its methods aren't pretty. Once we realise this, we see our inner critic in a whole different light. Thank your inner critic for its kind consideration, then tell it you're going to carry on and create anyway. Then carry on and create anyway.
You can choose any of these areas to help you be more creative. Then, with that in place, move on and try another, and another. Before too long, you'll realise you've become as creative as anyone you know!

How To Increase Our IQ Score
Kamis, 05 November 20091. The first way is to learn how to be a better test taker. Go through the test quickly, skipping over questions you aren't sure about. Then return to those later. It is better on a timed test to answer all the easy questions first. You wouldn't want to have no answer for several easy ones just because you spent too much time trying to get the answer to a tougher one.
On multiple choice tests you should always answer every question. If you are not sure first eliminate the answers that you know or suspect are incorrect. Then choose one of the remaining. If you can eliminate two of four answers on a number of questions, you'll get half of those questions right on average.
Note: Some will argue that this has nothing to do with increasing your IQ, but only your score. They are probably right, but as a practical matter, I would say that your "functional intelligence" has been raised by learning a skill (test-taking) that can help you in real life. By this I mean that productive use of intelligence is more relevant to life than some theoretical measurement of potential. - Steve
2. The second way to boost your average IQ score is to have the right conditions in place. Sleep well before the test, breath deeply through your nose, and sit up straight. These things are shown to improve performance on almost any test. Recent studies show that eating fish speeds up brain waves and increases concentration, so you may want to try that too.
If you are allowed music during the test, make it Mozart. Otherwise, listen to it just before the test. In one study, subjects who listened to Mozart's sonata for Two Pianos in D Major, K. 448 for ten minutes before an IQ test scored nine points higher. Do whatever you can to have your body and mind ready for the test.
3. The third way to boost that IQ score is to exercise your brain. This is a longer term strategy that assumes you can actually permanently improve your brain function and intelligence. It is a safe assumption in my experience, and in any case no harm will come from the effort.
